Daniel started school on the 25th of January 2011. He did not want to go but I was very impressed that he went with no tears at all.
The night before school he was trying to keep our kitty inside and our big heavy window came down onto his finger. He did not even cry he just shook with pain and said my finger needs to rest. All this happened at about 7:pm in the evening so I finished bathing Joshua and got him dressed packed a bag and we went off to Constantiaberg emergencies. they have a 45 minute waiting period and you have to pay for the hospital and the doctor so we phoned Tokai Medi cross and they close at 9:00 pm and there were three people waiting.
We headed to Tokai Medi cross when we arrived they asked what was wrong and we told them what Daniel had done and we could go straight to the rooms at the back. The nurse gave Daniel some Pain medication and we waited for the doctor.
Dr Van der Rosse soon arrived to have a look at Daniel's finger and he said that it would probably be broken. We needed a x-ray of the finger to be sure and sure enough it was fractured right by the nail.They were brilliant every time we took him back to make sure that it is not infected they were fantastic.
Daniel had a very late night as we only got home at 10pm and the next morning would be his first day of school. This did mean he could not do all the activities.
