My baby is one.
Joshua you are such a blessing to us. I thank God for you and what you have brought into our lives.
You were born at 35+ weeks but you were such a strong little fellow you weighed a mere 3.335kg.
You were such an easy baby I would feed and change you and put you in the cot and you would put yourself to sleep. I would also just sit and hold you and look at you so small and so cute.
You first smiled was at six weeks.
You were a breast fed baby. Till I started expressing milk for you and you took both breast milk and formula milk.
You love your food the only time you do not want to eat is if you are feeling sick.
You sat by yourself for the first time at 8 months.
Your first word was mama
But now you say Dada all the time but only Mama when you are cross.
You love your big brother and he loves you oh so much.
you learnt to crawl on Christmas day. You were 11 months at the time.
You pull yourself up on to anything you can.
You love crawling outside.
You hate nappy changes.
You love playing in water.
you have 7 teeth: four at the top and three at the bottom.

Happy happy birthday Joshua!
I planned a teddy bear picnic for the kids.
I bought boxes and painted them and added the kids name to the box. That was their picnic box.
It was filled with a hot dog and a juice - Very simple.
For games: we did a Teddy bear toss
Treasure hunt - running all over the place trying to get the clues.

Bubbles
Pass the parcel
Kick - hit the pinata which I made the kids loved it
we feel it was the best party we have done... It has only taken us three and a half years to get there!
We had two cakes one my sister made which I was very very impressed with Thank you Natalie and Jolene you guy's did a fantastic job.
The other was one which Colin's sister organised for us which was also cute so we ended up having two cakes.
We had pressie time nad all the kids had a ball opening Joshua's presents as he ws not interested.

We went to church on Christmas day and kept the kids with us for the family service.
We made a made dash home to pick up the goodies we had to take for lunch at my sister's place.
She had decorated the tables beautifully and made her own Christmas crackers.
We all enjoyed a lovely meal together.
Pressie time which of course the kids loved and even the adults got in on the action.
Joshua learned to crawl on this day so we will never ever forget it.

Holiday
We went to the same house as the year before but this time we left later so that we could pack everything and leave early early in the morning.
We got up early packed the last things in the car and set of to Mossel bay. The kids were still sleepy nad settled with the movement of the car and we could cover a good distance before having to stop.
We were at the Spur at 8am after driving for about three hours already.
The kids had a ball in the play area even Joshua got in on the action because it was so quiete no kids in site.We had about a two hour break and then it was time to hit the road again. The kids were so relaxed and happy to be in the car. Mommy played games with them while Daddy drove.It was an awesome trip.
We unpacked and then chilled before having to make supper and do bath time. I recommend leaving very early in the morning... What a difference it made.
We enjoyed our stay at the holiday house but did not even get the chance to head to the beach as the weather was not so nice but it was very chilled so we could just have quality time together as a family.
Daniel loved it there he did not want to come home. The more we tried to pack every thing up the more he fought us. We packed everything up to set out early in the morning. We could not sleep and so decided to pack the cold stuff and bedding and left the wee hours of the morning.
The kids slept through the whole drive and we were home at 7 am. When we stopped outside and Daniel opened his eyes and realised we were home he said lets go back I do not want to be here.
We unpacked and had to get things together for Christmas day.

Crawler in the house
It is official we have a crawler in the house . We were trying to get him to do it by 10 months but he would not he just did all his own funny movements to get him where he wanted to be. Then he was sitting on the grass by my sisters place and all of a sudden he started crawling and now he wont stop.

Joshua's first words were Mama, Dada,Mommy and Gaga (Daniel)

Holiday
Our first holiday as four.
We went to the Rocklands camp, Daniel was very excited to be going away. The teaching was great and we had plenty of time to chat or chill and they had plenty activities for the kids. Joshua got plenty of cuddles from everyone. Misses most of the evenings gatherings due to bathing Daniel and doing my feeds and by the time they are settled and ready for bed I was ready to crash.
It just goes by so quickly. Will add pics soon.

Joshua's first trip to the beach
Joshua was three weeks old when we took the kiddies to the beach. Daniel had a blast in the sand but Joshua slept ands when he was not sleeping Mommy got to do feeding time in the car. It sure did feel like all I did was feed.

Joshua was only a few days old when Daniel got sick. He did not want to eat and was vomiting all over the place so your first outing was taking Daniel to Dr Tessa what we would do with out her. She said he had a bad tummy bug and that he would need to be separated from you so that he does not pass it on. I think that was a little tough on him as he has a new brother and then he had to go and sleep some where else.
Got some meds and in no time he was at home being his usual self.

Joshua comes home
Joshua comes home!
It was a lovely summers day, Daniel could not wait for us to leave the hospital with his baby brother but with everything there was a lot of paper work to be filled out. We only left the hospital in the afternoon after I had some lunch. I was wheeled in out to the car in a wheel chair and then we had to pack the car with kids and bags. A new experience for us... But soon we were at home and we had our first visitors Craig and Karin. Was lovely so see them.

Daniel wanted to see his baby brother and could not understand why no one was aloud to see him besides Mommy and Daddy. He was very disappointed. I got to spend some special time with my big boy in between feeds.

Born at 35+ weeks
We had to get going really early as I had to be at Constantiaberg by 8:00 am and we had to drop Daniel off at Ouma and Oupa. I was not looking forward to the whole birthing experience.
We did the boring paper work and the like and then I met my anesthetist and he was fantastic. He spoke to me about what was going to happen (such a different experience than with Daniel)
It was time to go into theatre, they did the epidural and made sure that I did not have pain this time round. the next minute the anesthetist said they have already cut me open and are busy taking baby Joshua out. I could not believe it. So fast.

Weighed in at 2'335 kg
Length 47 cm
head circumference 32,5
Joshua spent his first 24 hours in the ICU so I was transported on my bed to the unit whenever he needed feeds. I was so happy to be able to breast feed Joshua as I could not with Daniel as his sucking reflexes were not developed enough so he was in hospital, tube fed and then bottle fed.
I had meds which I could self medicate and it worked brilliantly I was also give a sleeping tablet and then they could not wake me up for feeds I was lights out.This time I did not have so much pain.
I am so grateful to God for our happy, healthy little boy. What a blessing from God.

Well we had planned to go to Kirstenbosch to have a picnic with family and friends but then I was on bed rest. Thanks to my hubby for cleaning,organising food and drinks. I had a lovely time at home.

Having had a tough time when I was pregnant with Daniel i was expecting the same with our little bubs.
The Dr Alberts said I had to go on bed rest till bubs was born and that was tough because I could do nothing if the house needed cleaning I had to just shut my eyes to it. TOUGH.
He said my baby would have to be born soon and that I would need steroid injections...
I was hoping to have natural birth and again that dream was shattered and I was at the stage of how am I going to cope with two.
I was also very nervous about having a Caesar again as the last time it was sore when they began cutting.

December 2009 - January 2011
We had a house in Kein Brak just outside Mossil Bay but we were not very organised with the packing and left as Daniel had woken up and He did not want to be in the car for so long so which should have taken about 5 hours took 8 hours needless to say we were exhausted when we got there and Daniel was very frustrated having been in the car for so long.
But our stay was awesome we went to the beach and had a great time. The night we were packing up to go we had a braai and Daniel was riding his bike but it was steep and hes as boys will do he decided to go down and could not stop and hit the wall.. He is this hormonal pregnant hysterical mother with her son with a big bruise on the top of his head... We were not sure if we should take him to a doctor or not and where we would find a doctor at that time of day.. We found a phone book and the doctor gave us some advice and praise the Lord he was absolutely fine.
We drove back early and had such a pleasant trip back.
