life and its busyness
We went to my nieces first little play with her play group. Which was very sweet but made me realise I would not like to send Daniel there. The play was centred around father christmas ect...
We went to my Sister for a catch up afterwards and left Daniel there to play while we did some viewings at the flat.
Birthdays: We were invited to celebrate our Niece's 14th birthday. Which was really nice and relaxed except that I was bathing, feeding and trying to calm Daniel down for bed something which other people just do not understand. We sang happy birthday and made our way home.
Daniel was so wired it took and hour and a half for him to settle down. Which meant he went to sleep about 10:00 pm very very late indeed.
Christmas Shopping.
We had planned to do all the christmas shopping together but since we spent such a long time in Nucleas Toys and then went to the Wimpy for something to eat. When we looked again it was sleep time. So Colin took Daniel home for a nap and I continued shopping with no distractions. I bought all the presents i need and they are wrapped up so now all I need to do is put up the Christmas tree. the lights and decorations and hand out my Christmas cards.
We have been asked to help family members of ours who are really battling and have lossed both their parents in the past year. So i will be doing a food hamper as a christmas gift. They need alot of prayers as they have had a tough child hood and are currently on drugs.
Cute things kids do
Daniel loves making breakfast for himself and his Daddy. So he needs two bowls and two mugs and the cereal of choice and Mommy helps by pouring the milk to be warmed in the microwave.I also try and put the right amount of cereal into the bowls.I take the mug out of the mocrowave and Daniel then pours the milk into the bowls to make their breakfast. So independent.
When getting dressed he has to chosse the clothes otherwise he says off and proceeds in having a big tantrum so the easiest way around this it to let him decide.
When little ones are sick
Well last night Daniel came home with a fever and was not such a happy camper. He had an early bath and as usual did not want to go and sleep. We read stories put his stickers from the advent calendar onto his sticker book and we read stories where I was told to read more and more and then finally he fell asleep.
He woke up during the night and I eventually went to sleep on his bed with him on the cot mattrress and Colin got to sleep through all the fuss through the night well so it seems because he did not know about it this morning.I am exhausted though because I had way too little sleep. I did enjoy the closeness of being with my little boy during the night. I think he really feels the facts of time constraints with him.

Misscariage
last night I got a call from my sister letting me know her sister in law's baby no longer has a heart beat and to be honest, I wanted to cry because it brought back my own feeling's and even though now , I am six months preggies and sometimes wonder how on earth I would cope with two. I am sure I will get my strength from the one above.
When I went to the Doctor the first time and he told me that I would probably miscarry I was devestated and all I could do was cry. It was tough but in all that there was an uncertainty what if the scan was wrong what if it was just to soon to tell.So I was hopeful that all would work out ok.
Soon after seeing the doctor and him preparing me for the worst.... I started having cramps and the spotting increased and I told Colin that I believe I am having a miscarriage. I could see by the look on his face that he was upset but tried to be strong and said dont worry there is nothing you can do about it.I would not take any medication as I was concerned about what if I do not misccarry.
When I went to the doctor and he told me that I did indeed have a misscarriage and that I would have to come back to make sure it had all cleared naturally or I would have to have an D & C which I was not keen on. What happens if my baby was still fine and that there had been a mistake. So I made the discion to let it pass naturally and hoped it would do so fairly quickly.
I went back to the gynaecologist a month later and all had cleared naturally but emotionlly I broke down at work the one day. I could not talk to anyone I just had to get out of there. I spent a few days at home mourning the loss of my precious baby.
I told Colin that was it that I could not go through that pain again and that I would rather just be happy with my gorgeous boy. In time I changed my mind and am so happy about that.
I felt as though God gave me the strength to deal the pain and all of the mixed emotions one has.

Week end
30~01 November
What we got up to this week end.
Daniel got bitten on his ear. Thankfully it was not too deep and did not need any medical attention.
The tenant at my Southfield flat has moved out …. He did not give two months notice and I am frantically trying to get another tenant. I had two viewings for Friday but they did not show up. URGH…..
Saturday I had to find a present for a friend of ours and while we were at the shops Nols (My Cousin) phoned to let us know that Colin’s parents were involved in an accident. . Daniel started throwing a tantrum so Colin took him out the shop so I could have some peace while shopping. When I arrived at the car my other cousin Shannon had called and asked if she could come over for a while before we head out again. So Colin went to pick her up and I put Daniel down for his afternoon nap. So sadly her son and Daniel never got to play together.
We made a mad dash to drop them at home, the kids enjoyed eating chips along the way… and we eventually arrived at the picnic. That was quite chilled after the morning of rushing around....
We popped in at Colin’s folks to see how they were doing, they are fine but the car is badly damaged in the front. We stayed to watch the Rugby. It was a very busy day for the little chap.
Sunday we went to church and on our way there Daniel had a tantrum of note he grabbed my glasses and bent them….. I was not very impressed with the little dude. He had a nice long sleep that afternoon. And was a happy chap after that.
That is pretty much what we got up to this week end.

He is happy and healthy and weigh's in at 540 grams there is a restriction with the blood flow which has to do with the way the placenta attached itself which may cause a growth problem as it did with Daniel. I hope and pray this is not the case but at least we can prepare for it.

Week end Away
The first one was our yearly church family camp which was great Daniel made a freind named Enoch and we had great fellowship and Bible teaching's and even though we were not able to go to all the session's due to bed time ect for Daniel we all had a great time. Saturday they had fun and games on the field.
Pack up time and poor Daniel did not want to go home.
Our second week end was on my bosses farm just outside Greyton.Colin hurt his finger hooking up the trailer to the car.We had an intereating drive there. I needed the Ladies room so we were searching for a garage quite soon into our trip.Daniel had wet everything so he needed nappy and clothes changed. Interesting with no where to change him but the car that was packed full of stuff. We got there in the dark and managed to find the place in the dark. We unpacked and set up Daniel's cot for him so sleep in and also block the stairs and put him in.
He was so happy when he woke up and had a new place to explore. We went for a walk.Played with the stones and sand.We then went home for lunch and a nap and then went for a ride in the beach buggie which was great fun. Daniel held on to the handle and the gear leaver for safety. The problem came into being when the gears needed chaning. It then started raining to we had to head back. Supper was served.Daniel learnt how to cut paper with a scissors while we were there. He had great fun making a big mess.We even played some dominoes while we were there.
Then it was pack up time but before we did that we went for a walk a tantrum filled two + year old. So we headed back and put him down for a nap. We packed everything up while Daniel was asleep and then changed his nappy and while doing that he woke up. He did not want to leave and we had to tell him we were going to look for the cows and she sheep so we had many stop along the way looking at the sheep. We his traffic on Sirlowry's pass and so we took about four hours to get home.We then had to unpack and get settle'd for the dreaded Monday morning.

NIGHT TIME ROUTINE,SLEEP
16 SEPTEMBER 2009
well ever since Daniel was sick a few months back our night time routine was ruined. Bed time happened much later than any of us liked. Hence my decision to force Daniel to sleep at no later than 8:30 and in his own room all by his lonesome.
We did our bath time routine and then we had stories and prayer time and then the battle began.
We had screaming, banging on the door. Calling for Oupa then Dadda and even I got called.
I went in after about 10 minutes of screaming and asked if he wanted a tissue to blow his nose he said "Uh" (meaning yes) and thought that gave him a ticket out of his room but instead he was told to stay in his room I will bring it to him. I then tucked him into bed, Told him I loved him and was only doing this because I wanted what was best for him.Daniel put himself to sleep and we all had a good nights sleep for a change. I have to get him in a routine before baby no 2 arrives early next year.

Bubs
Well I found out I was pregnant again on Father's Day after the fourth test.I went for a blood test which confirmed it. I then made an appointment with Dr Alberts and had my first scan done at 9 week and two days. All looked good according to the scan.
I went for a down syndrome scan on the 14th of August (almost 13 weeks) and It was so special seeing clearly how bubs has developed.
Everything came back clear and our chances for a healthy baby are good. I am praying that we won't have the same as last time.Daniel was not growing inside his Mommy as he should so we had to go the C - Section route which I was not happy about. He also spent 8 days at Constantiaberg Clinic due to being prem and not being able to suck properly so they had to bottle feed and then tube feed the balance untill he was able to drink a full bottle.
We found out the sex of bubs but not sure if I should write that here as some people might prefer a surprise.
I have been feeling tired all the time and least of all the morning sickenss at night around supper time. and I am 16 weeks when is it going to end???

Week end Drama
10~12 July 2009
Well for the past two weeks our cleaner has not pitched at work. No phone call of explanation and in the world we live in I am now worried that she might have been badly attacked or worse. But with no phone number how do I even look for her... So as a result Friday after work is clean up time...
Saturday Daniel decided to throw the chest of draws on to the bed ans just missed him praise the Lord but what a mess to clean as all the clutter that was on the top was now on the bed and I now had no choice but to clean it all up....Charming...
Craig and Karen were coming over for supper and well un pre pared Carmen got up about 15 minutes before they were due to arrive. We ahd a lovely time and watched a movie all snuggled up due to the cold.
We went to St James Church and I was impressed as I had not been there in a while things seem to be improving. We stayed and chatted to Craig and Ian upstairs... and then Daniel fell asleep on the way home at least his tummy was full. We chatted in the car until Daniel woke up. We watched a movie that afternoon too thanks to Karin lending us the movie Fireproof, I thought is was absolutely Brilliant.

Week end Fun
03 ~05 July
Friday night much to my disgust was spent cleaning the house as my cleaner never showed up.
Saturday we hurried up to head to Clicks to meet someone there and then off to the Porters Estate Market where Daniel and his new freind Rubin had loads of fun playing in the sand. Then we head to the stall for some yummy food and Daniel wanted to touch all the dogs BIG and small. Then off to the Super Market to do the grocery shopping and then we rushed home so Dad could watch the Rugby and mom could have a sleep. I woke up at 11 pm with Daniel moaning who had fallen asleep by himself at some point while Daddy aslo snoozed and was then wide awake the wee hours of the morning... Needless to say we did not make it to church Sunday morning. We were to late so headed to Fish Hoek Beach for a picnic Daniel fell asleep in the car so we Dad tried to nap to and I watched the sea ..God's creation is awesome. We then went for a walk along the catwalk and then we had to off course play in the sand again....Our car is still covered in sand. We then bathed Daniel and got ready for the evening service at Tokai Community Church Colin went into church and I stayed in the cry room with Daniel and could hear absolutey nothing. But it was good to be with God's people none the less.Bed time..... Daniel is still happily sleeping in the lounge in his "tent" Table covered with a duvet cover....

Birthday's

Birthdays!!!!
Well we celebrated my father in law's birthday on Monday night. We had a yummy supper and Daniel enjoyed playing with his cousins and he enjoyed his supper namely Rice and meat... It was a very late night for him as he only went to bed just before 10.
It was a great party even though most of the time I spent feeding Daniel and checking to see what he was up to and trying to settle him for bed time.
Week end Fun,Party
12 ~14 June
We went to pick up Daniel from Ouma and Oupa and just relaxed at home. Scampy our Dog pulled the washing off the line and was so close to visiting the SPCA but not sure if I have the heart to do that to an animal who has chosen us.We made a dash in the stormy dark cold and wet to buy a Canal Walk Voucher and the a bit of mandain grocery shopping and then another mad dash to get home but when we got to the car it would not start so we had to push it first. How embarrassing???
We rushed to take Daniel to Aunty Odette where he spent the night and we raced off to my Cousin's 50th party,Yes I am not even thirty yet what can I say my Mom took a while to have kids....
Sunday we went to pick Daniel up who had just woken up and he did not want to stay at creche on Sunday morning but soon settled and we enjoyed Bishop Des's service.
Sunday was spent relaxing.

New Word, Giving up bottles and the dummy
He now says one and holds up his one finger. What a big boy.
He no longer has a bottle nor dummy (with us) but trying to tell his granny that he does not need one is a little bit harder than telling her that it would seem as she gives it to him without him asking for it.
Presents,Thomas the movies
On the week end we bought Daniel a torch and Daniel face lit up when he realised it made a light and when you point it to the ceiling it makes a shape. He was delighted.
Well for Daniel train party we bought him a set of 5 DVD's of Thomas the train and he loves so when i went to the Hyper Market I bought him some new DVD's 200 bucks later. We got one 101 Dalmations and another movies with loads of songs and off course Thomas. Daniel beamed for joy at the sight of this movie and his arms were up in the air and he said AAAAH AHHHH AHHHH.
Baaa and he took my hand and led me to the lounge so he could watch his movie which by the way I said was Colin's as he is so tired of the old stories.

Pneumonia
Well Daniel has pneumonia at the moment on Monday he was very lethargic. He has the bacterial pneumonia which is a very fast acting pneumonia.
He is doing to much better now.
He was up late last night playing in his pram instead of sleeping.
He wanted to sleep in his pram so last night he spent the night in our room sleeping in his pram... Anything for some peace so that I can sleep. He woke up just before 10 am this morning...
It is so special that Daddy took some time off work to look after our little darling.
I enjoyed being at home on Tuesday. Daniel slept alot but we did manage to play with cars and build some puzzles.
Yesterday when i came home he was sleeping.
We drew some pictures and started making a fathers day gift... Wont go into any details yet as that may ruin the surprise...
Some ifo I found on the internet.
Pneumonia is an infection of one or both lungs which is usually caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Prior to the discovery of antibiotics, one-third of all people who developed pneumonia subsequently died from the infection. Currently, over 3 million people develop pneumonia each year in the United States. Over a half a million of these people are admitted to a hospital for treatment. Although most of these people recover, approximately 5% will die from pneumonia. Pneumonia is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
How do people "catch pneumonia"?
Some cases of pneumonia are contracted by breathing in small droplets that contain the organisms that can cause pneumonia. These droplets get into the air when a person infected with these germs coughs or sneezes. In other cases, pneumonia is caused when bacteria or viruses that are normally present in the mouth, throat, or nose inadvertently enter the lung. During sleep, it is quite common for people to aspirate secretions from the mouth, throat, or nose. Normally, the body's reflex response (coughing back up the secretions) and immune system will prevent the aspirated organisms from causing pneumonia. However, if a person is in a weakened condition from another illness, a severe pneumonia can develop. People with recent viral infections, lung disease, heart disease, and swallowing problems, as well as alcoholics, drug users, and those who have suffered a stroke or seizure are at higher risk for developing pneumonia than the general population.
Once organisms enter the lungs, they usually settle in the air sacs of the lung where they rapidly grow in number. This area of the lung then becomes filled with fluid and pus as the body attempts to fight off the infection.
What are pneumonia symptoms and signs?
Most people who develop pneumonia initially have symptoms of a cold which are then followed by a high fever (sometimes as high as 104 degrees Fahrenheit), shaking chills, and a cough with sputum production. The sputum is usually discolored and sometimes bloody. People with pneumonia may become short of breath. The only pain fibers in the lung are on the surface of the lung, in the area known as the pleura. Chest pain may develop if the outer pleural aspects of the lung are involved. This pain is usually sharp and worsens when taking a deep breath, known as pleuritic pain.
In other cases of pneumonia, there can be a slow onset of symptoms. A worsening cough, headaches, and muscle aches may be the only symptoms. In some people with pneumonia, coughing is not a major symptom because the infection is located in areas of the lung away from the larger airways. At times, the individual's skin color may change and become dusky or purplish (a condition known as "cyanosis") due to their blood being poorly oxygenated.
Children and babies who develop pneumonia often do not have any specific signs of a chest infection but develop a fever, appear quite ill, and can become lethargic. Elderly people may also have few symptoms with pneumonia.

Jordan 2 Years with Cancer
ALL THIS MAIL IS ASKING YOU YOU TO DO IS TO PRAY FOR THIS BOY'S LIFE.
Jordan (two years old) has been at Red Cross Hospital in Cape Town for the past 5 weeks struggling with cancer. The latest news from the hospital is that in the last 12 hours his body has weakened to the point that the side effect of the drug that they were considering using may do more harm than good.
At the moment everything is on hold and they are just holding there breath and praying. They saw what seemed like a glimmer of hope in the form of a miracle drug and now those hopes have been das hed but as the doctor says, this is how it goes and we cannot give up hope.
Please continue to pray for him and thank you to all of you who have been so willing to help, help which they still need depending on what happens in the next few hours and days. So for now as frustrating as it may be there is nothing else to be done but wait for all the medicine he is receiving to start working and pray for a miracle, a gift only God can give to him.
Jordan at the moment has 22 tubes going into his body, a machine draining fluid from his lungs, a ventilator to breathe for him , another machine to do the job of his kidneys as they are unable to get rid of the toxins. A tube to feed him, and a whole lot more to administer morphine for the pain, valium to keep him sedated and a whole lot of other antibiotics to fight infection and repair the holes in his lungs caused by the pneumonia. In the last few hours his condition changed a number of times, one minute giving some hope then the next looking hopeless. As you can imagine this is more than any parent can bear and I urge you to keep Craig and Karen in your prayers for strength, the doctors for wisdom and God for healing and mercy.

I really enjoyed it and am now motivated to get stuck into it.
We are busy looking at the book of Isaiah and they are quite far into the book already but ii is going to be great studying and being motivated by home work ect.
I am also going to try and do Tokai Community Church's study on a Sunday night with Colin one day of the week.

Week end,Mothers Day

Week End and Mothers Day.
We had planned to go to St James food fair but with all the preperations for Mothers Day ended up staying at home in stead.
Well we aslo planned to do the GWC fun run more like walk but we were not ready in time and off course the master of the house likes to go to bed late and then also to sleep late so we missed that one to.
I prepared all the food for Sunday so that I could enjoy Mothers day to.
Sunday was church as usual and then we raced home to re - heat all the food and do a Malva pudding. I put Daniel to sleep and as per usual he fought it untill I held him and said he had no choice so unfortunately he missed most of the lunch at the table. Bonus Mom got to eat in peace.
He had some chicken and off course did not say no to some custard.
he loved playing with his cousin's they played with cars and then outside in the sand pitt.
We got our house back to normality and then rushed to see the Botha's (Colin's sisters)plot. It is going to be one huge house... Our dream is to have a nice big house one day too... All in good time for now we are grateful to be able to own our own house and also for food, clothing and everything God has provided for us.
We then went to tokai Community Church for the evening service. Daniel had so much fun that he did not want to come home. Needless to say he had a late night.
