Holidays

Holidays

December 2008 and January 2009

Well our offices closed on the 19th of December for three weeks. Which was awesome...

The first week of the holidays was pretty much spent at home organising things for Christmas ect....
On Christmas eve we went to Colin's sister for a supper which was great just ended a little late for Daniel and church the next morning.
We went to St James on Christmas morning and then home to prepare food ect...
We had a great afternoon allthe kids loved their presents and the two cousins had a great time in the cot and they got up close and personal.. Very Sweet in deed...
Michael blew massive bubbles for the kids and they loved it.

We got home late that afternoon and we were all rather exhausted...

My Dad came over and so did Colin's parents for some tea and cake and Daniel got his present which he has been looking at for a couple of months but the poor kid was so exhausted that he was not that excited about his new tricycle.

We got a surprise visot from friends who popped in to wish us... The house was a little chaotic with bath time and still unpacking stuff. But was great to see them.

Saturday we went to my bosses place to organise our get away which was nice we then rushed off to pick up little Liam (he is Colin's Deceased cousin's child so we do try and spend some time with him but not enough) We were planning to take him out but he had a ball at home with Colin. Daniel went for his afternoon nap. Which gave Liam and Colin some alone time as Daniel was getting quite irrated having to share his Daddy.
Sunday we were on creche duty which is always great to spend time with the kids. We went to the shop afterwards to buy stuff for out trip to the farm just outside Greyton.
We had some food and then started packing for the big day so many things to remember...
We got to bed later than I had hoped so we did not leave as early as i had hoped.

Well we got up and shwered, dressed and packed the car put Daniel in the car who was still in pj's and set off for the farm.Rod and Nicky were going to join us for a couple of days and we met them on this long gravel road and we could not find the farm at first and hten as we were driving I spotted a sign that said Soutfontein and that is where we should have turned. We drove on a rickety bridge which thankfuly did not collapse on us.
We made toast and then just relaxed for the afternoon.

Suppertime came and Nicky volenteered to make supper for us so that was pretty cool.. We had a jummy pasta. We chattered round the table for a bit and then just went to dream land. Daniel did very well as his cot was in the lounge in front of the stairs so that he could not go exploring.( Especially since we sleepwalk from time to time)

Tuesday We had all the farm workers childeren playing in our little place.we went into Greyton to have a look at the Town. We had a scon at the Greyton Lodge and a jummy milkshake.
We headed back so Daniel could have his nap. The rest of the gang enjoyed riding the quad bikes.I took Daniel for a walk on the gravel road and he loved it he would stop and play with the stones
We decided we would braai and a good time had by all.We learnt a new word Kids = Klonkies.

Wedesday Daniel got to go on a quad bike while uncle Rod drove and Daniel sat in the middle with Daddy holding on to his boy. He loved it....A real little man in the making...
We went for a little walk and before you know it its lunch time more food to be eaten. He then had a nap while the rest of the gang enjoyed the quad bikes. When Daniel awoke from his nap Colin and I took him for a walk.then relaxed a little bit while the other two went for a "romantic drive" except that they had Klonkie with them most of the time. We had a braai and a very quite New years eve in deed. We were half asleep by the time(hey we must be getting old). Thursday Rod and Nicky and carried on to george so it was nice to have some alone time. Thurday we had lunch Daniel had his nap and then we took Daniel down to the river. He loved it there. We had supper and chatted for a while. We were even able to watch a movie.
Friday morinig we took a walk to see my bosses proteas (yes that is what he farms with)it was a nice walk Daniel loved it but when we got back to the house he still wanted to walk. So we went down to the river.
Saturday we went into the town for the Greyton Market which was nice to we bought a pancake to munch on and something warm to drink. Off home to have lunch and for Daniel to have a nap. Supper came and it sunk in it was almost time to go home.
Sunday we had a nice relaxing day we went for a walk slept and ate repeat and then we started packing all the things together put it in the car and then off to bed.

Monday morning we left early... We stopped at a farmstall for breakfast and for Daniel to stretch his legs he loved the swing off course.... Arrived home and the dreaded unpacking began. We then had lunch and Daniel had his afternoon nap.
We got ready packed bags and all the rest and took Daniel to Ouma and Oupa and we went to Pirates to celebrate Ian's birthday. That was really nice.

Tuesday we went shopping for a mattress for Daniel and ourselves and we bought one through our friend Craig from Brother's beds.

Wedesday we did not do much had some quality time at home. then packed bags for daniel and dropped him off at Ouma and Oupa and we met Rod and Nicky at Peddlars on the Bend. It was great to have adult conversations.

Thursday we all did some chores around the house. While Daniel was sleeping I decided I would give the two dogs a bath and when I was busy with scamp I noticed a big lump in her neck.Chores, chores, chores.

Friday was my birthday so when I was up and about I spoilt with a nice present (an electrical shaver) boy does it take the hassle out of shaving.I also got some "vouchers" Back massage, Big hop abs, A free movie,Hugs and kisses.I got a present from my son as well a book with a whole lot of Suduko's in it, to feed my addiction to those games. I am yet to redeem my vouchers. We went to the shops to buy some things for the picnic on saturday. My darling husband to me the the Grill house for supper and then for a romantic walk by the water edge.

Saturday we went to the vet to check up on Scampy and then met friends and family at Kirstenbosch for a picnic the kids loved it.Colin was with Daniel by the little river and Marco asked him to watch Angie so he turned his attention for a second and Daniel tummbled into the water he was soaked but not faced at all.Luckily Mom came prepared and had a spare set of clothing and no more accident happened.

Sunday we went to church and relaxed afterwards "our last day at home meant packing bags preparing food for Daniel and ect.

Well now its back to work and into a strict routine.
